What a great turnout we had tonight! Scott estimates at least 200 people (of all ages and sizes) came by Kleman Plaza to see the Saturn, Venus, Mercury lineup. Gene & I had our ‘scopes, Scott ran Gene’s binos; Tom and Juanita ran the table, gave out magazines, sold raffle tickets, made explanations, etc., etc., and after all that, the clouds and haze made a pretty disappointing lineup – you could barely see Saturn with the naked eye and by the time I got my ‘scope on it, you couldn’t even see it thru the haze. The King of Planets was our delight for the night however, as all 4 moons were lined up on one side of Jupiter and at least 2 bands were visible. It was a great crowd, most were thrilled and amazed at the sights, very polite and grateful we were there. I'm hoarse. Bless you, Tom for getting us water halfway through and Scott for helping me lug everything all the way across to near the Brogan where we set up, then back again! Thanks to the Tallahassee Democrat for the great article about the ‘trio’ and for mentioning us and thanks to Challenger Learning Center for it’s support. I need to make me a wheeled cart for next time!
Twinkle twinkle little star . . How I've wondered what we are . . Now I know you're made of dust . . Now I know you're just like us . . Twinkle twinkle, oh so far . . Now I know I am a star. Anonymous
