Solar Activity

Yesterday (10Sept2005) there was a class X flare.  Today Bill, Juanita, and I looked at some spectular proms using the Coronado scope in front of the MBM.  There is the possibility of some Auroa activity reaching Southern areas, and a few years ago they were visible in Chiefland when a class X flare occured.  Here are a couple of links that may be of interest

Believe it or not, I actually witnessed some light auroa activity while on starhill a year or two back (memory getting tired). It was after one of the very large flares that year. I think others in TAS also reported seeing the same activity that night from their personal Tallahassee observing areas. Keep looking up, there is no telling what one might catch a glimpse of!
