Sidewalk
Is sidewalk astronomy a special event or a regular event?

Star [*]Re: Sidewalk

It's a regular event, but we don't need another category on this board, so we just post the info here.  It was supposed to be a Lake Ella nite, but I'm being a 'nurse' this week, John's got a bad cold-something.  I will get the observing info from Chiefland, the minutes and newsletter out soon.  If anyone went to Lake Ella, send me info to include.

Re: Sidewalk
The observing was quite good considering how bright the moon was.  Gene brought his binos.  Bill had what looked like a fair size dob, but it was set up by the gazebo and I did not see much of it.  I set up my ETX 90 and connected it to a portable DVD player.  Junitas granddaughter brought her new scope and was able to use the red dot finder to locate things.  When I connected it to my DVD player to her Starblaster she said she wants one of those too.

There was not a big crowd considering how nice the weather was, and Bill and Gene left early.  I stayed till my camera displayed the battery exausted message around 10:30.  Scott(hope I got your name right?) helped me break down and did a yoemans job of directing folks and answering their questions.

I posted some moon images I took in the photo section.

Re: Sidewalk
I guess the Lake Ella events are regular events but special requests like the Drive-In Movie on the 19th are special since since they are a one time event.
