As a test of my new scope I started the AL program for double stars on Friday evening. I got the three in Lyra since we are starting to loose Lyra in the west. The double-double Epsilon Lyrae was a challenge at 2 seconds separation with a 12 mm eyepiece.
The Program requires a sketch of the double and the North direction indicated on the sketch. The AL indicates it is a good program for the backyard since most doubles are a reasonable magnitude and not requiring a dark site.
The sky was hazy so I did not see the colors as advertized. After getting one in Cygnus, coulds started rolling in and I quit.
