Is the club doing anything about this?

Geeked [8-|]Re: Penumbral Lunar Eclipse of March 14

While penumbral lunar eclipses aren't usually very spectacular or interesting, there is a comment in my March Events posting that says "last one of this type until after 2050" so some of us "baby boomers" may want to catch this one just in case they want to see one.  It's also the sap or lenton moon, as well.  What would we want to do with this event?  Do we have enough time to make announcements, or just make it a club event?  Let's keep each other "posted" on this (pun intended).

Hi Barry,

I am gonna go to the dark site unless some of the other club members want to go to Lake Ella (or some other venue) as a group.

Tom,

I guess we didn't generate much interest.  I've got something else that evening, so I'm not sure I'll make it out to the dark site, but I may try and see it.

Well Joe and I went out to Lake Ella last nite.  I set up my scope and connected a camera and DVD player to it so folks could see the moon on TV instead of having to look in the EP.

When there is an almost full moon it is nice to be able to observ it without being blinded.  The weather was very comfortable and there were several folks who expressed interest in the meeting/planetarium show next week.
