At the meeting on Monday, the Messier Lab turned into a picnic/barbeque. The club will supply dogs, burgers, beans, condiments, bring your own chips, drinks, snacks. We will leave the Subway at the SR59 and I-10 exit in Lloyd at 4:30 to bring up those who don't know their way. BRING WARM CLOTHES & LAYERS!!
We've been wanting to do this for a year now and finally both circumstances and the weather seem to be coming together. Can't wait to see you all there!
The following is a brief, blunt description of rules, any of the Board members will be happy to discuss them in detail with you:
You should be a club member or invited guest. The combination to the gate lock will be given to active, paid up members in good standing who have been around for at least three months. The combination to the observatory lock will be given for those who meet the above criteria AND have been checked out on the operation of the club scope by Gene, Tom Rowland or Joe.
No white lights after dark, parking lights only for driving after dark. Cover or turn off your vehicle interior lights. Park heading out. There are no maids! Don't leave anyone alone unless they KNOW it. Last one out locks the gate. Mostly, as you can tell this is just common sense and common courtesy - however, some things may not occur to a newcomer, so please don't hesitate to ask before you do something or if you need something. Welcome and we hope you ENJOY yourself!
