It is 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and although it is cloudy it is supposed to clear by 6:00 p.m. So my call is to go. If it does not clear we will give a short program and go somewhere to eat.
As of March 31 it looks like a go. I have been contacted by the Jackson County newspaper. I did not mention it before but Marianna is central standard time. So far it looks like Tom Rice, Tom Rowland, Gene, Jim Holland, Joe, and Myself. I will be working Saturday Morning and will get the Table and Banner. More help would be appreciated for green laser work and manning the table for the raffle of the telescope and general crowd control and questions.
The Star Party on April 1 at Florida Caverns State Park is on. Joe Haley and I met with Mark and Linda of the Friends of Caverns State Park this week. We checked out the site and it is fabulous. There is a golf course adjacent to and part of the park. We will set up deep in the park along a golf course fairway. It is a very good open site with trees 360 around but at a distance. There is access for our cars but the public will park about 100 yards away behind some trees. They already have advertisements up around the park. We agreed to the following:

- There will be a contribution to TAS.
- They will buy Peterson's Guides from us at our going rate and sell them for more than we do.
- There will be introductions and we will go over a sky chart they will copy and handout at sundown.
- I will prepare a checklist of objects that telescope will be trained on similar to what we were doing for Thomasville and Chairs.
It was about 70 miles to Exit 142 in Marianna. Go north and follow the brown state park signs. About 3 miles north turn left (west) on 90 and go about 4 miles west into Marianna. In Marianna turn right or north on Jefferson and it goes out of the city and to the park. I will hand out a map of the park at the GM on March 20th and E-Mail it to members going. I would be there NLT 6:00 p.m. for set up. I will try to be there by 5:00 p.m. Please give me an E-Mail if you are going. We will need extra help in addition to scopes for constellation tours and manning our table.
